Hi, my name is José, I’m from Chile and currently working at the University of Cologne (PhD student)

I worked at the Chilean Weather Service (DMC) since 2014, in the Climate Service office. Here, I was able to improve my communication skills with regular TV, radio and newspapers interviews; I was creator, editor and writer in a nice blog website called meteochile; I was in charge of the monthly-national meeting of climate analysis and S2S forecast; and also I taught Dynamic Meteorology during two semesters to bachelor’s meteorologist at the Aeronautic Technical School (ETA).

I finished my master degree thesis on January 2021, where I analyze an extreme precipitation event in the Atacama Desert. That work opened a window to come to Germany and start my PhD program, where I will study and analyze the major differences in the water vapor transport and supply in both Atacama and Namibia Deserts. Wish me luck =)
